Construction of an Artificial Turf Football Pitch

Project Overview

As part of United Sport’s portfolio specializing in the construction and outfitting of sports facilities, we executed the supply and installation of a complete artificial turf football pitch system at the Maadi Sporting & Yacht Club (Main Branch), covering a total area of 10,600 m².

The pitch was constructed in accordance with the site's actual dimensions and approved design. An integrated system comprising artificial turf layers and infill materials was utilized, tailored to the demands of athletic use and designed to optimize the surface's efficiency and performance.

Pitch Flooring System

Artificial Football Turf System

We supplied and installed sports-grade artificial turf with a pile height of 50 mm (5 cm) and a density of 16 stitches, specifically designed for football pitches and backed by a 5-year warranty.

The turf installation involved precise cutting, tailoring, and laying based on the site's actual dimensions and approved design, with careful attention paid to roll orientation and distribution to ensure visual uniformity and a high-quality finish.

System Components

01 — Pitch Base Preparation

Preparing the pitch surface, leveling and adjusting elevations, and ensuring the base is ready to receive the artificial turf system.

02 — Supply and Installation of Artificial Turf

Installing 5 cm pile-height artificial turf with a density of 16 stitches, including cutting and tailoring to fit the specific area and approved design.

03 — Silica Sand Infill

Silica sand is added and spread within the artificial turf fibers, distributed evenly across the entire pitch area to help anchor the blades and enhance the stability of the turf surface.

04 — SBR Rubber Granule Layer

A layer of SBR rubber granules is applied over the silica sand to provide the necessary elasticity, improve shock absorption, and enhance comfort and performance during play.

05 — Spreading and Final Finishing

The turf undergoes final spreading, distribution, and brushing to ensure uniform infill distribution and proper fiber elevation. The entire pitch surface is inspected to verify the quality of the final finish.

Line Marking and Detailing

Pitch lines were created using white artificial turf, precision-cut in the factory according to approved athletic dimensions. This ensures the permanence of the markings and a seamless, high-quality appearance free of visible seams.

All jointing, anchoring, and seam treatments between turf rolls were executed with meticulous care to achieve a uniform surface and a professional, cohesive finish.
